When it comes to the complex systems that keep homes and businesses in Pennsylvania safe, comfortable, and functional, comprehensive expertise is key. For over a century, Wackenhut has been a name synonymous with a broad range of essential services across the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and fire safety sectors in Jamison, PA, and the surrounding regions. Established in 1914, this long-standing company has witnessed and adapted to the evolving needs of the community, aiming to provide solutions that ensure the efficiency and integrity of critical infrastructure.
Maintaining a property in Pennsylvania means navigating diverse climate demands and ensuring safety compliance. From the chilling winters requiring robust heating systems to the humid summers demanding efficient air conditioning, and the ever-present need for reliable plumbing and fire protection, a versatile and experienced service provider is invaluable. Wackenhut positions itself as a multifaceted expert, offering services that span these crucial areas. While recent customer feedback has highlighted specific concerns regarding fire sprinkler inspection practices, the company's long history and broader service offerings indicate a commitment to a wide array of home and business mechanical needs, striving to address issues thoroughly and professionally for the well-being of their community.
Wackenhut is conveniently located at 2132 York Rd, Jamison, PA 18929, USA. This prominent address in Jamison, a community within Bucks County, provides a strong base for serving a broad service area across Eastern Pennsylvania. York Road (Route 263) is a major artery, ensuring excellent accessibility for both their service vehicles and any customers who might visit their office for inquiries or consultations.
This strategic location allows Wackenhut to efficiently dispatch their teams to various towns and townships throughout the region. Their service footprint extends beyond Jamison to include areas such as Warrington, Warminster, Doylestown, Hatboro, and other communities across Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Being a well-established local entity, Wackenhut possesses an intimate understanding of the unique infrastructural nuances, specific building codes, and common system demands prevalent in Pennsylvania homes and businesses. This geographical advantage contributes to quicker response times for emergency situations and efficient scheduling for routine maintenance and installations, aiming to provide timely and effective solutions to their local clientele.
Wackenhut offers a comprehensive suite of mechanical services, covering vital aspects of home and business functionality, including plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and fire safety. Their long history indicates a broad capacity to handle diverse needs.
Plumbing Services: As a fundamental offering, Wackenhut handles a variety of plumbing needs. This typically includes leak detection and repair, drain cleaning for clogs, pipe repair and replacement, fixture installation and repair (faucets, toilets, sinks), and addressing issues with water pressure and water lines. Their plumbing expertise is foundational to their service array.
Water Heater Services: They specialize in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of water heaters, including traditional tank models and potentially newer tankless systems. Ensuring a reliable supply of hot water is a key component of their plumbing offerings.
Heating System Services: With Pennsylvania's cold winters, heating is crucial. Wackenhut provides comprehensive services for heating systems, including furnaces (oil and gas), boilers (steam and hot water), and heat pumps. This covers new installations, routine maintenance, and emergency repairs to keep properties warm and efficient.
Air Conditioning Services: For comfortable summers, they offer full air conditioning services. This includes installation of new AC units, diagnostics and repairs for existing systems, and seasonal maintenance to ensure optimal cooling performance and energy efficiency.
Indoor Air Quality Solutions: Beyond temperature control, Wackenhut also addresses indoor air quality, which can include services related to humidifiers and potentially air purification systems, contributing to a healthier living environment.
Fire Safety Services (Sprinkler System Inspection and Maintenance): Wackenhut provides fire safety solutions, notably including the inspection and maintenance of sprinkler systems. This is a critical service for both residential and commercial properties, ensuring compliance and safety, although some recent customer feedback has raised specific concerns about their practices in this area, particularly regarding mandatory replacements during real estate transactions.
Generator Services: They also offer services related to generators, which are essential for maintaining power during outages, ensuring continuous operation of vital home systems.
Maintenance Programs: Wackenhut offers annual maintenance programs for various systems to help prevent unexpected breakdowns, extend equipment lifespan, and ensure peak efficiency.
Wackenhut, with its extensive history, highlights several features that typically define its service, although it's important to acknowledge varied customer experiences.
Centuries of Experience (Since 1914): A truly remarkable highlight is Wackenhut's longevity in the business, operating since 1914. This signifies over a century of accumulated knowledge, adaptation to technological advancements, and deep roots within the Pennsylvania community. Such a long history typically indicates a foundational understanding of various plumbing, heating, and cooling systems, from legacy infrastructure to modern installations.
Comprehensive Service Provider: Unlike many specialized companies, Wackenhut offers a wide spectrum of services encompassing plumbing, heating, air conditioning, fire safety, and generators. This "one-stop shop" approach can be convenient for homeowners who prefer to deal with a single trusted provider for multiple home system needs.
Emergency Service Availability: Wackenhut understands that mechanical failures don't adhere to business hours. Their website indicates emergency service is available, which is a crucial feature for unexpected plumbing leaks, heating failures in winter, or AC breakdowns in summer, aiming to provide prompt assistance when urgency is highest.
Highly Trained Technicians: The company states that "All of our work is performed by our highly trained technicians with a promise to complete the job in a professional and thorough manner." This commitment to skilled professionals aims to ensure that services are executed competently and efficiently.
Guaranteed Service and Installation: Wackenhut offers "guaranteed service and installation," which typically implies a commitment to stand behind their work and ensure customer satisfaction with the quality of their repairs and new system installations.
Customer Service and Professionalism (Varied Experiences): While some reviews praise technicians for being "courteous and professional," "prompt, efficient and neat," and "extremely professional, answered questions and gave me information," it is important to note that other recent feedback, specifically concerning fire sprinkler inspections during home sales, has raised significant concerns about perceived dishonesty and misrepresentation, leading to allegations of being "a total scam" and "totally dishonest company." This indicates an inconsistency in customer experience in specific service areas that potential customers should be aware of when making their decision.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Do not use this company!!! Was selling my house in warrington and needed the sprinkler system inspected in order to sell the house. Paid $175 for the inspection and then was told we needed 4 of the 6 sprinklers in the basement replaced due to them being recalled. Additional cost of $1600!!!Total scam and I believe the township fire inspector is supporting this corruption!!The existing sprinkler heads were fine!!!!This also just happened to my neighbor who was selling their house. Wackenhut inspected their sprinkler system and told them the same thing!Totally dishonest company and they are ripping off the homeowners in warrington township!!!’
Jul 11, 2024 · Alex DedeianWe sold our house and the township has requested to certify the sprinkler system in the finished basement. Kyle showed up explained that the reason he is in our house is because of the failed inspection from the township and reported us to the town ship for not having the correct system in order to get a job out of this. Just so you all know no inspector ever was in our house, and i was the one who called Kyle to come in and do that. Never signed anything from him such as estimate or scheduled appointments, and that’s the route he took. Be ware from this guys they not their to help anyone but them self. I would love to post what he really deserved to be posted but ill try and stay professional

Sep 12, 2022 · Gil BenizriExcellent experience, from making the appointment to the gentlemen who performed the work. They were prompt, efficient and neat. A few years ago, they replaced hot water heater and installed a utility sink. This week, they repaired a leaky toilet and broken spigot. Would highly recommend!

Nov 19, 2020 · Jenn GardnerI have to report the incident happened to me to let everybody know that Wackenhut at Jamison charged customers RIDICULOUSLY.The ceiling of my condo unit leaked water due to the malfunction of HVAC in the unit above me. Wackenhut was called by the owner above me and the technician came to his unit and fixed the problem. After he was done, I confirmed with him that nothing in my unit was wrong. At the time he friendly came to my unit, opened the AC, wiped some condensation water, turned the sensor off and on. The whole thing was between 5 to 10 minutes.Guess how much I was charged later? $170!!!!I argued with them that since there were not any service call or diagnostic fees because those were charged to the unit above, it is ridiculously expensive for a 10 minute job of wiping blotches of water marks and rebooting a sensor. Obviously they ignored my argument and keep sending me the bill. I will pay them but PLEASE:DON NOT HIRE WACKENHUT!Update: Called them again and the fee was reduced to $100.

Feb 22, 2017 · Sherry WangThey responded quickly to my request for a plumber to do the back flow preventer certification required by the Township (another unnecessary government regulation). I had called three other plumbers, who advertised that they did the cert. Neither respond to my several phone calls. Wachenhut answered immediately and did the cert. within days. Downside they charged $300 to do tje certification and file it with Southampton Township. Another unnecessary tax on my business.
