★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Terrible service and outrageous price gauging. My first two appointments (scheduled only after multiple calls and texts) were missed and no one even called me to cancel. When technicians finally showed up they were more than 4 hours late (I was promised that after the missed appointments they would come right at 11am, but they rolled up at 3:30pm, again with no notice. To add insult to injury they were not able to program my new thermostat (which they drastically overcharged me for) and so I still had no air conditioning. I followed up and was told that a manager was going to come and program the thermostat so it could be used. Once again the appointment was missed with no phone call or explanation. When I called the manager he assured me that he would not miss the next appointment because this time he was going to put it in his calendar!!!! Then I got the bill. I was charged $781.58 for the thermostat that cost them less than $100. When I called to complain they deducted less than $300 off the outrageous bill of $1,712 (service plus the thermostat). The next month I experienced the same problem and needed a new thermostat for a different zone. The new company I called sent someone the same day, replaced the thermostat and charged me $361. Needless to say I will not use Paraco ever again.
Sep 24, 2024 · Betsy MorganIf I could give 0 I would.Back when Thuesen was independent they were reliable and easy to work with. Since Paraco bought them it's been a disaster and I will no longer be using their services.Had an issue with a circulator pump. I requested a specific employee who has worked on my system previously. Was told he would be coming. A different employee showed up with another individual. It was clear that he was an apprentice of some sort as each step was being explained to him. I have zero issue with someone learning the trade on my system. That was until I got a bill that charged me for a technician and "a worker". This "worker" made the job take twice as long which increased my bill on its own, but then to charge me for his learning time is ridiculous. As for the issue, they replaced the pump and the system started working. Fast forward 3 weeks and it was broken again. I had two different companies come out to look at the issue and both of them had the exact same reaction: "what is this pump doing on here, it's not nearly strong enough for this system". They put a pump on that couldn't handle the load and it burned itself out after 3 weeks, $250 down the drain. Additionally, when the pump was being replaced with an appropriately rated one, they discovered that the pump wasn't even fully secured in place as two of the bolts were so loose they could be turned by hand. A sloppy installation on top of it being the wrong component. The quality of their service and their workmanship has completely degraded in the wake of this corporate take over. Avoid at all costs.
