While publicly available information specifically detailing "features" or "highlights" of Harry Caswell, Inc. is limited beyond basic contact information and customer reviews, we can discuss aspects that are generally considered features or highlights for a local plumbing business operating in an area like Delaware. These are typical attributes that customers look for, though it's important to consider them in light of any available customer feedback.
Potential general features or highlights for a local plumber could include:
- Local Presence: Being based in Millsboro, DE, allows Harry Caswell, Inc. to potentially offer more responsive service to the local community compared to companies located further away. This local focus can sometimes mean a better understanding of specific regional plumbing challenges.
- Established Operation: The company appears to have been in operation for a period, as indicated by customer reviews referencing long-term relationships (e.g., 15 years of service). An established business often implies experience in the field. (Note: While longevity can be a positive sign, the recent severe negative reviews regarding customer trust and service delivery, especially concerning long-term relationships, should be carefully considered by new clients.)
- Residential Focus: From the customer feedback, it seems their primary client base includes residential homeowners, particularly those with beach houses or seasonal properties. This specialization can mean tailored services for common household plumbing issues.
- Community Familiarity: Operating within a specific locale often means the business is familiar with local building codes, common types of plumbing systems in the area, and even the nuances of properties in coastal regions of Delaware.
- Accessibility by Phone: The provision of both a standard phone number and a mobile number suggests multiple avenues for contact, potentially enhancing accessibility for clients needing to schedule services or inquire about issues.
It is crucial for potential clients to balance these general attributes with the specific and highly critical customer reviews available. The severe issues reported, particularly regarding negligence, lack of follow-up, and significant property damage, are very serious considerations that overshadow potential general highlights. For any service, especially those as critical as plumbing, current reputation and reliability are paramount. Customers in Delaware should weigh all available information, including these very strong warnings from former clients, when considering Harry Caswell, Inc.

- Address: 34836 Long Neck Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966, USA

This contact information provides direct means for prospective clients to reach out to Harry Caswell, Inc. for inquiries, service requests, or to discuss specific plumbing needs. The availability of both a standard and a mobile phone number offers flexibility in communication. When contacting any service provider, it is advisable to clearly state your needs, request detailed information about services and pricing, and confirm any scheduled appointments in writing if possible. Given the highly critical customer feedback regarding unfulfilled services and communication, meticulous record-keeping of all interactions, including dates and times of calls, and details of agreements, would be a prudent measure for any new or returning customer.
The physical address in Millsboro, DE, indicates their base of operations, and while most plumbing services are conducted on-site at the customer's location, knowing the business's physical address can be reassuring for some clients. For any plumbing issue, especially those requiring immediate attention, having readily available contact information is essential for Delaware residents.
For locals in the Delaware region, particularly those in and around Millsboro, choosing a plumbing service involves considering reliability, local knowledge, and customer trust. While Harry Caswell, Inc. is a locally established business with a physical presence at 34836 Long Neck Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966, USA, and readily available contact information (Phone: (302) 945-5322, Mobile Phone: +1 302-945-5322), recent customer feedback presents significant concerns that potential clients must seriously consider.
Traditionally, a local plumber offers the advantage of prompt service due to proximity, a deeper understanding of regional plumbing challenges, and a more personalized customer experience. For long-term property owners, particularly those with seasonal homes common in Delaware, services like winterization are critical. The reviews, however, highlight a severe breakdown in trust and service delivery, particularly concerning winterization, which resulted in devastating property damage for long-standing customers. This directly contradicts the expectation of reliability and care that local residents seek.
The narrative from multiple highly critical customer reviews indicates a significant failure in performing promised services, a lack of communication, and an unwillingness to accept liability for damages incurred due to their alleged negligence. This stands in stark contrast to the qualities that make a service "suitable for locals," such as dependability and accountability. For a business that has served customers for over a decade, the reported recent experiences suggest a serious decline in customer satisfaction and service quality, particularly concerning critical preventative maintenance.
While the goal of a local business is to be a trusted partner within the community, the public accounts detail scenarios where trust was irrevocably broken, leading to substantial financial loss and emotional distress for homeowners. Therefore, while Harry Caswell, Inc. is geographically located to serve Delaware residents, and historically may have been a choice for some, the very recent and explicit warnings from former customers regarding unfulfilled critical services and alleged negligence are paramount.
In conclusion, while Harry Caswell, Inc. is a local plumbing provider in Millsboro, DE, offering general plumbing services and contact accessibility, local Delaware residents should approach with extreme caution. The severe negative experiences reported by long-term customers, particularly concerning critical services like winterization and subsequent property damage, necessitate thorough due diligence and potentially seeking alternative, highly-rated plumbing services with a current track record of reliability and accountability, especially for high-stakes plumbing needs. The suitability of any local service for residents hinges on trust, quality of work, and accountability, and in this instance, public feedback raises substantial doubts regarding these crucial elements.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD!!!We’ve trusted this plumbing company with our beach house for over 15 years, but our most recent experience was nothing short of devastating. We hired them to shut off our water before the off-season, as we’ve done every year, and they assured us it would be taken care of.Unfortunately, they failed to do what they promised. Despite calling multiple times to follow up, nothing was done—and during that period, a pipe burst. The damage completely ruined our house. Decades of care and investment, destroyed in days because of their negligence. What’s most upsetting isn’t just the mistake itself, but the lack of urgency and responsibility afterward. After so many years as loyal customers, we feel completely let down and ignored. I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company, especially for something as critical as winterizing or shutting off water. Our trust has been completely broken, and sadly, so has our home.
Jul 21, 2025 · Danielle CovelyDo not trust this company with your home!!!My 90 year old mother has used this company for the last 15 years to winterize her property and to open house in the spring. They had keys to the house representing a gentlemen's agreement to perform work for my mother when she called. We have phone records proving my mother made multiple calls to the company, asking them to shut off the water for the winter in December 2024— just like they had done every other year. But this year the work was not done and pipes burst leaving a house that cannot be used. This was my 90-year-old mother's beach house. My grandparents bought the house in the 60s. I spent a lot of time as a child with my grandparents at the house. Our family has a lot of memories with the house and means so much to our entire family. This is our family home destroyed by their negligence. The company referred to my mother as a “valued customer". Despite follow-up calls and a clear agreement, they neglected to shut off the water. A pipe burst destroyed the house. After 15 years of loyalty and trust, she was treated like she did not matter at all. They said she did not call and set up work to be done. She did call mutiple times and there are phone records to prove she called the company. The only reason she would have called is to schedule work to be done, no other reason! She was given a date the work was to be completed but was not done. Now she has a house that cannot be used plus a couple thousand dollar water bill. This is totally unprofessional and they need to admit this was their fault. My mother called as she has always done for the last 15 years. She did everything right and the company did not. Why is it right for the company to do this to my mother and not accept liability? They are clearly liable for the damage.
Jul 21, 2025 · Sharon BoyerMaybe someone wouldn't agree with this but when you call Caswell for service they just tell you when someone will be out , BUT DONT BELIEVE THEM. For over 15 years my 92 year old mother called to have her beach house winterized and then in the spring to have the water turned back on. This year she did the exact same thing as she always did and got the date of service. Guess what, nobody showed up to winterize the property and pipes burst. she called a couple of weeks later not knowing the water wasn't turned off to ask about the bill and was told it would be sent out later. 2 weeks later she called again and this time the person checked and told her that there never was a work order created. Knowing that an error happened it still took them 10 days to get someone out. Their insurance company is refusing to pay anything to repair since Caswell refuses to take any responsibility. we have phone records showing the calls plus history going back over 15 years. We have found out that during the first call that there was an employee that didn't work out and was left go. So how could it not be that the person who gave my mother the service date just forgot to or something distracted her from putting in the work order. there was over 45,000 gallons of water that destroyed the entire first floor. Would you trust a company that has 15 years of history plus actually has keys to the house and WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ERROR!!!!!!
Jul 21, 2025 · Michael BoyerDo not trust this company with your home — especially if it involves something as critical as shutting off your water!!This was my 90-year-old grandmother’s beach house. We had relied on this plumbing company for over 15 years. Every year, they were supposed to shut off the water for the off-season, and every year they said it was taken care of.This time, they didn’t do it. Despite multiple follow-up calls, they failed to act — and during that time, a pipe burst. The resulting damage ruined the entire house. What should have been a simple, routine job ended in total devastation. The worst part? The complete lack of urgency, responsibility, or remorse from the company afterward. After 15 years of business, we were treated like we didn’t matter. This was complete negligence on their end. If you're thinking about hiring them, especially for something important, think twice. We trusted them with a home that meant everything to our family, and now it’s gone.
Jul 21, 2025 · Laura CI’m writing this review not out of anger, but out of deep disappointment and concern for others who might unknowingly trust this plumbing company with their property. A routine service—one they’ve been providing for years—resulted in severe water damage to a Millsboro home belonging to a 92-year-old resident. The damage is irreversible. Despite having a key to the property and phone call records confirming their access and involvement, the company has shown zero accountability for their failure. What’s even more disturbing is their complete disregard for the homeowner’s well-being and their refusal to take responsibility for the consequences of their actions. This wasn’t a one-off miscommunication—it was a clear failure in service and a stunning lack of professionalism and integrity. No one deserves to be left in this kind of situation, especially a senior citizen with limited options. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, and I strongly urge others to stay far away from this company before they become the next victim of such negligence.Karma has a way of coming around—and when it does, I hope it reminds them of the people they’ve harmed by failing to do the right thing.
