We contacted Mr. MacCready for a septic design. He was recommended by our site work guy. Left him a message and he called back the same day. That was the first clue that he might turn out to be good. He told us he could get over to the land we are working whenever we could meet him. When I mentioned that we already have a soil analysis (perk) test he said that he always does his own since it is his design. Then he added it is included in the price. When we discussed that price- my jaw hit the floor! He was about half of what we expected. Peter showed up a bit early and fully prepared to do his testing / plan. He spent time explaining the systems available based on our plans with the property. He listened and adjusted his ideas based on our plans. After completely moving the previously selected septic location to what will clearly be a much better spot, he did his test pits and announced that the soil was far better for a septic in the new location and would cost much less to build. Mr MacCready did not ask for any up front payment -though we felt obliged to pay him half. In a stunning conclusion to this review, 4 complete sets of very detailed plans showed up in my mailbox just a week later. This fully licensed professional far exceeded our expectations and is a true example of what an excellent septic designer should aspire to be like. Big thanks. - Gary Lee
